A New Guild Chapter

Duluth Guild MembersOn Saturday, January 31, in Duluth, Minnesota, the SFQ International Guild held a celebration honoring Spring Forest Qigong in the northland: the installation of the Northern Lights Guild chapter!

It was a gathering of newcomers and experienced qigong practitioners--residents of the North Shore and the Twin Cities together participating in this first event centered around the theme of opening one's heart to realize health, harmony, and homecoming. The afternoon came alive with shared stories, experiences, and information--an afternoon for building and for celebrating community. And in the midst of all the activity, fun, and laughter, there was time for silence...for meditation.

We welcome the first Guild chapter as an expansion of the mission of Spring Forest Qigong, "A healer in every family and a world without pain," and look forward to the formation of more chapters in the future.

SFQ Guild ReachOut

SFQ Guild ReachOut volunteers (the ?Traveling Qi Team?) participated in a holistic workshop on Saturday, February 7, at The Right Touch in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The theme of this workshop was ?New Year Cleansing and Changing Your Life.? Four ReachOut healers were on hand to offer sample energy-balancing sessions and to share information about SFQ: April Anderson, Christopher Jones, Peiju Picard, and Reggie Weber. Nancy Freaner von Arx was lead volunteer at this event.

Ann CathcartA number of speakers/practitioners did mini-lectures, including Ann Cathcart, a certified SFQ Level One instructor, who spoke on Spring Forest Qigong and also did a brief demonstration.

Rhonda Battisto, SFQ Guild ReachOut Volunteer Services Coordinator, said, ?Open-hearted volunteers were available to provide services (two shifts of two healers each). We hope and expect that this benefited others and spread the 'good SFQ word'?!
